Most Livable... (i could make an inappropriate joke about the cops here, but i'll refrain)
swiped from whatever source tuny got this from:
"According to The Economist magazine's Economist Intelligence Unit Livability Ranking, which looked at conditions in 127 cities worldwide, Vancouver, BC in Canada is the most liveable, and Port Moresby in Papua New Gineau is the least. Assessed were nearly 40 indicators in five broad categories -- stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Cleveland and Pittsburgh tied for 26th most liveable in the world, the highest of all American cities."
well that was unexpected. i love my city and all, but you just don't see things like this coming. true, the healthcare here is solid, and the cultural amenities are quite impressive, but i would have figured that the education and infrastructure fields would have sunk us.
and maybe i'm jaded, but something just doesn't seem right. pittsburgh and cleveland tied for top in the US? it just feels like one of those dances where all the popular kids invite the two nerds, just so they can laugh at them...
but i guess until vancouver and its posse reveal the joke and dump the punch all over us, i'll just go ahead and let the city have its moment in the sun.

Hey, speak for yourself there, Chief Burning River. At least we have a football team.
One love,

If you take all the best parts of Cleveland, all the way out to the very edge of the suburbs, it's a darned nice place to live.

I think the main question here is whether or not the survey included the suburbs. Considering the vastness of them, it might make the area more 'livable' as it were.
I mean Cracker.... oops, Crocker Park is a triumph of 'livability', I'm sure. But, enough bitterness. Cleveland isn't as dangerous as people make it out to be, and it does have some very good points. I find it disturbing it would be more livable than Boston, but I can see how someone would consider it livable.

Cleveland smells like shit. I wouldn't live there unless I were paid- a lot...and allowed to eat at Chipotles for free anytime...yeah, then I might reconsider. :)
